William Scott O'Connor

William Scott O’Connor, one of the Founding Fathers of the Amateur Fencers’ League of America (AFLA/USFA), was the UNITED STATES FIRST A.F.L.A. NATIONAL FOIL CHAMPION in l892 and was the 1905 National Epee (then called ‘dueling sword’) champion.  He was a member of the l904 U.S. Olympic Team in the Games in St. Louis and won the Olympic Silver Medal in the Single Sticks event.  Dedicated to help the League grow, he volunteered as the Secretary Treasurer of the Amateur Fencers’ League of America for 34 years -stepped down w/ President Graeme Hammond.
